Meeting Minutes
November 8, 2011
Memorial Town Hall

MEMBERS PRESENT:        Mark Johnson, Bruce Pennino, Mary Ricker

OTHERS PRESENT:         Nancy Galkowski, Town Manager
Debra Sciascia, Recording Secretary

M. Johnson called the Board of Health Meeting to order at 5:30 PM

WORCESTER PUBLIC HEALTH REGIONALIZATION PROJECT:  The reason for this meeting is for the Board of Health to vote on moving forward with regionalization of the Holden Board of Health, and to sign a non-binding letter of commitment.

The first grant was for a feasibility study.  This second grant, which will include the letter of commitment by the municipalities regionalizing, will include $100,000 for the first year; $75,000 for the second year; and $50,000 for the third year.

The selectmen approved to move forward with regionalization at an earlier meeting with the notion to opt out if finances for regionalizing exceed the Town’s budget.

Inter-municipal agreements (IMA) in regionalizing at this point are with Shrewsbury, Leicester, Millbury, Worcester, and Holden.

Moving forward with regionalization will endorse the incentive of Central Mass Regionalization grant being submitted in November.

M. Johnson motioned to move forward with regionalizing, B.  Pennino seconded.  All in favor.  Approved.

MEETING MINUTES:

OTHER BUSINESS:  Discussion of what A. Crete could be doing if regionalized.  Some possibilities could be inspections for the regionalized municipalities; statistical analysis for data generated, ect..
